Training Programme 2019

Here's the guild training programme for this year: I hope there's something of interest for you in it. The whole day events will include a pub lunch. Everyone is very welcome but it helps in planning and for you to be sure of a place if you contact me as soon as possible if you would like to come to any training event as a student or a helper - contact details below.

Sat 26th January 10.15 - 4.00 Making Progress with the Help of a Simulator
A simulator can be a useful aid to improving ringing at several levels from basic handling to practising complicated methods and in teaching. Once you have the hang of it, which can be a bit of a challenge at first, it's easy to use. Come along and give it a try in a warm ringing chamber with a good cafe downstairs.
St Mary's, Brecon (10.15-12.15) and (2.00-4.00)
Sat 9th March 10.15 - 4.00 Doubles Day
We shall be ringing Plain Bob, Grandsire, Reverse Canterbury, St Simon's and other doubles methods by request. If you are just getting into ringing Plain Bob or if you want to widen your repertoire of doubles methods this is for you - please let me know what you would like ring in good time.
Builth Wells (10.15-12.15) and New Radnor (2.00-4.00)
Sat 8th June 10.15 - 4.00 Ringing Up and Down in Peal
Controlled ringing up and down with an increasing number of bells. There may be one or two slots for those who can ring up and down on 6 accurately to have a go at leading up and down depending on numbers.
Llanfeugan (10.15-12.15) and (2.00-4.00)
Sat 27th July 10.15 - 4.00 Triples from Plain Hunt to Basic Methods
For those with experience on 5 and 6 bells who would like to have a go at ringing on a higher number. We shall mainly be ringing Plain Hunt, Plain Bob and Grandsire Triples - other methods by request.
St Mary's Swansea (10.15-12.15) and Sketty (tbc)(2.00-4.00)

Ringing Resource Centre
St Mary’s, Brecon, is equipped with a simulator and sets of wireless headphones, enabling ringers to practise individually without disturbing each other, or those outside, and we are keen to share this resource. We have regular weekly sessions and all are welcome. Once you have been shown how to use the equipment you can be left to work with it independently or you can opt for individual tuition as you wish.

Please contact me if you have training needs which are nor covered in this programme: also I'd like to take a fresh look at training while keeping what is popular about the current system and I would value guild members' ideas and suggestions on training.
